about ‘Heroine’…

Madhur Bhandarkar’s much anticipated movie Heroine starring Kareena Kapoor in the lead, is learnt to be promoted in three different versions of its theatrical trailer, each for a different segment of audience. An uncensored version will also be released online by the filmmaker.Confirms Shikha Kapur of producers DisneyUTV, “We have cut three trailers for Heroine” .According to HT Media, the original trailer will be posted online in its entirety, with the three theatrical trailers certified by the censor board targeting – Indian audiences (U/A), the overseas market (12 years and above in UK), and adult audiences (A) world wide. The content will not be completely different, according to an HT insider from the production house:“For example, we have changed Hindi words like ‘r***i’ (prostitute) to ‘item’ for our U/A trailer. Plus, the cigarette-smoking scene has been blurred. The love-making sequences have also been cut down.”The film – rampant with love making scenes, smoking and drinking – is said to be the boldest ever work of Bhandarkar. It is a story of a film actress Mahi Arora who was at her peak at one time.Arjun Rampal is the male lead but the focus is totally on Kareena’s character. Not a single look of Rampal’s been released until now. The film will hit in theaters on September 21, Kareena’s 32nd birthday.

Imran Khan on his latest films…
In the past couple of years, we have seen Imran Khan grow up from a chocolaty boy to a much grown up man. Filmmakers have now recognized this and are seeing him in a different light.Imran will soon be seen playing a rustic role in Vishal Bhardwaj’s “Matru Ki Bijlee Ka Mandola”, a tapori in Milan Luthria’s “Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2?, and a street smart guy in Tigmanshu Dhulia’s Milan “Talkies”.Explains the actor, “You fit into certain kinds of roles when you are a certain age. I’ve always looked young for my age, but in the past couple of years, I’ve grown up a bit. So now directors see me in a different light. It has very little to do with my choices and more about the offers that are now coming my way.”

Well established and critically acclaimed directors boost Imran’s acting skills.“The benefit is immeasurable. In fact, I feel more secure than ever in my career now, since I know someone is watching over me. Earlier, I worked with debut directors, so I always wondered if the films would work,” adds the actor.A hardworking actor that he is, it is heard that Imran has spend almost a month learning Haryanvi for Bhardwaj’s film. Known to get into the skin of the character, Imran has even put on weight and grew a beard for his upcoming film.In Milan Luthria’s “Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2?, it is heard that the actor is busy meeting the underworld scene in Mumbai so as to learn their body language and jargon right.Looks like Imran is seriously following his mamu jaan Aamir’s footsteps.

Hollywood Guff:

In the wake of today's horrific Dark Knight Rises shooting in Colorado, Warner Bros. has chosen to pull the trailer for another movie out of theaters. The preview for Gangster Squad, which has been online since May and is posted below, was NOT played prior to this morning's Batman feature and has NOT been attached to most of The Dark Knight Rises screenings around the country.

Still, one scene does depict mobsters opening fire inside a movie theater and, with the spot scheduled to start running nationwide this weekend, the studio thought it was inappropriate to air at such a time. Gangster Squad will open on September 7. It stars Sean Penn, Ryan Gosling, Emma Stone and Josh Brolin and centers on a LAPD unit assigned to rid Los Angeles of organized crime in the 1940s.
